FTIR Testing
Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) is a powerful tool for identifying chemical residue by producing an infrared absorption spectrum that is like a molecular "fingerprint". A one inch piece of ultra low tack tape used by DUST-AID was applied to a KBr crystal and removed. The Crystal was then analyzed for residue. Here are the results of the FTIR test:

This is the actual spectrum from the infrared analysis which shows no detectable traces of adhesive residue after tape application. The points shown in this analysis are called "static noise" by the scientist testing the sample. He indicated that when you get a zero reading on a test you will get this type of static noise with no chemical contamination or residue indicators.

100 Applications FTIR Test
Here is a study to show if there is adhesive residue over a period of use. Dust-Aid had a third party lab apply the adhesive foam tapes multiple times to a KBr Crystal. The lab applied 25 foam tapes, 4 times each, which totals to 100 applications of the adhesive foam tapes. Here is the infrared analysis:

As you can see by this analysis, there is no detectable traces of residue of the adhesive. Actually, the scientist called Dust-Aid and said we saved money on the test because they didn't have to do a search for a residue fingerprint because there was none after the 100 applications of the adhesive.
